Peter Rabbit…

There has been a crazy renewal of interest in Beatrix Potter lately – she’s never gone away in this house though. I’ve always been fascinated with her delightful drawings of the woodland animals and bought the little books to read to my daughter when she was young.
She, in turn, bought me the biography of Miss Potter and it’s full of fascinating facts, a ham just sitting on a table in one of her tiny pictures was drawn from life. She visited a butcher to make sure it was just right. That’s dedication!

Anyway, we’ve recently had some coins depicting various characters from her books and I (with a little help from friends and family) managed to collect 5 of them.
At Easter my daughter presented me with a chocolate egg and soft toy Peter Rabbit.  The coins have been stuck on my fridge for a few months but I decided to make a little box frame to include everything.
So, this is what I did…     22.png

First I painted a wooden box frame green.

The frame was actually the wrong way around it wasn’t actually a deep frame but with a bit of glue and botching it I have made it work for me.

I copied the scarecrow frame from The Peter Rabbit book (without the blue jacket though as my rabbit is wearing his still!).   wrtyiiiii.png   wrtttttyyy   hyhy

Then I had some tissue paper with Peter Rabbit illustrations all over it, hyrr
I stuck that on thicker paper and cut them out.

I used sticky pads to add some definition and depth,  dd1-e1524689979304.png

Then I added the 50p’s

and finally squished Peter in and sealed the frame. untitled.png

Here it is in situ,

Thanks for reading

Back soon, love Rosie
